Add-In manager missing in Visual Studio 2010

Looking for the Add-In Manager in Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Express? Trying to figure out how to install Add-ins? Sorry to say, but the ability to load add ins is not included in the express versions of Visual Studio. 🙁  It looks like you need at least the standard edition of VS.

It took me about 30 minutes of searching to learn this so I thought I would make a quick post in case it helps someone out.

  1. Did you get the package manger installed? but the package manager should be bundled with VS 2010 and 2012. i’m not sure about the express edition but i know this post is a year old and that may not have been the case at the time. You may want to take a second look in the new versions since it is a essential tool…. Not sure how the .NET community progressed without one for so long. 🙂
